Document Purpose
This policy affirms GlobalU’s commitment to providing an inclusive environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and with dignity, regardless of background or personal characteristics.
The policy applies to all GlobalU activities, including learner recruitment, onboarding, learning delivery via the GlobalU LMS, assessment, support services, employment practices, and partnerships.
2. Scope of the Policy
This policy applies to:
Applicants and prospective learners
Enrolled learners accessing the GlobalU LMS
GlobalU staff and contractors
Partner institutions, agents, and third-party service providers
All individuals engaging with GlobalU are expected to uphold the principles of this policy.
3. Protected Characteristics
GlobalU recognises and protects the following characteristics, aligned with the UK Equality Act 2010:

Disability
Race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin)

Religion or belief
Sexual orientation
Gender reassignment
Marriage and civil partnership
Pregnancy and maternity
These protections are applied consistently across GlobalU’s global operations, subject to local legal frameworks.
4. Policy Commitments
GlobalU commits to:

5. Responsibilities
5.1 GlobalU Responsibilities
GlobalU will:

5.2 Individual Responsibilities
All staff, partners, and representatives must:
Act in accordance with this policy in all interactions and decisions.
Treat others with respect, professionalism, and fairness.
Challenge or report discriminatory behaviour when it occurs.
6. Reporting Discrimination or Harassment
Any learner, applicant, staff member, or authorised representative who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination may report concerns confidentially via:

Reports will be:
Treated seriously and investigated promptly
Handled confidentially and sensitively
Addressed in line with GlobalU’s complaints, disciplinary, or grievance procedures
No individual will be disadvantaged or retaliated against for raising a concern in good faith.
7. Breaches of the Policy
Breaches of this policy may result in:
Corrective or remedial action
Formal warnings or disciplinary action
Termination of contracts or partnerships, where appropriate
8. Review & Continuous Improvement

Following changes to legislation, regulatory guidance, or organisational operations.
